Situated about 5 miles from the village of Halkirk, which boasts
a Post Office, Petrol garage, mini supermarket, and two hotels - both of wich provide
excellent food and answer all sorts of questions! There is a doctors surgery
which will deal with any emergencies. The town of Thurso is about 10 miles
away where most things are available. Wick is approximately 12 miles away
with similar facilities as Thurso. For non-fishing people Caithness offers
a variety of interests. There is a large archaeological society. Various
museums and old crofthouses open to the public to see how the previous generations
lives. There are also lighthouses, clifftop walks, seabird colonies.
Trips to Orkney and around Stroma. The Castle of Mey is also open at certain
times in the year. Deer and grouse can be seen nearby, and horse-riding facilities
are close by. There is a clay pigeon range and quad biking. All within easy

How to get here - Follow the A9 to Latheron, turning left towards
Thurso. At the Mybster

junction turn left to Westerdale on the B870 for about
3.5 miles taking the second right (also on the B870) towards Glengolly. About
2 miles down this road there is a bridge which dips down at the top of the incline.
After the bridge there is a turning to the left which leads directly to Braehour
Farmhouse.
